Our dedication in bringing you the very best in orthodontic
treatment is reflected in the education, dedication, and experience
of Dr. Gerald Spencer. A native of Oklahoma, Dr. Spencer graduated
from Oklahoma State University (OSU) where he was listed on
the Dean’s Honor Roll. He pursued his Doctorate Degree
in Dentistry at the University of Missouri at Kansas City (UMKC).
Dr. Spencer served in the United States Army at Fort Bragg,
North Carolina. He then returned to the private practice of
dentistry for three years before returning to the Orthodontic
Specialty Program at UMKC for a two-year training program.
Dr. Spencer has also completed the rigorous additional study
and examinations required to become certified by the American
Board of Orthodontics. He is among the small percentage of
orthodontists to earn this recognition of excellence in the
specialty of Orthodontics.
Dr. Spencer continued study and examinations to receive Diplomat
status in the American Academy of Pain Management, an important
adjunct for patients suffering chronic headaches due to muscle
and jaw (TMJ) dysfunction.
Dr. Spencer was appointed to the Missouri State Dental Board
by the Governor of Missouri and served as a member for four
years and Board President for one year.
He continues to keep current with the latest advances in orthodontic
treatment by enthusiastically pursuing yearly orthodontic education
courses and is committed to excellence in his orthodontic practice.
Dr. Spencer utilizes materials that are on the cutting edge
of Orthodontic treatment for his patients including titanium
wires, clear braces, and a sterilization process which is hospital
equivalent and is checked by the UMKC School of Dentistry on
a weekly basis. During the x-ray portion of the treatment process,
records are taken with the most current digital x-ray equipment
offering the lowest radiation exposure possible. These techniques
make it possible for our patients to experience a shorter treatment
time and the convenience of less time missed for work or school
as patients are seen on the average of an 8-12 week interval
rather once a month.
Our patients don’t have to tell you they’ve received
quality orthodontic care—it’s written all over
their faces. |
